The Wonga Park 6XI were unable to get the better of Croydon North 3XI on a tough day.
Croydon North 3XI batted first and put 7/229 on the board from 36 overs. Dave Trueman made a quality 65 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. Patrick Thompson was the pick of the bowlers, taking two for 21 off five overs. Paul Doevelaar also took two for 33.
Chasing 230, we reached 8/160 from 36 overs. Leading the way was Cameron McBain with 44. Wayne Hartley also got among the runs with 35.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again.
Thanks to the visitors for the contest.
