It was a disappointing outing for our Wonga Park 5XI, who were unable to get the better of Warrandyte 6XI on a day to learn from.
After batting first, we finished on 7/150 from 36 overs. A classy 53 off 71 balls from Adam Atkinson was the highlight. Geoff Smith weighed in with 23 off 35 balls.
Warrandyte 6XI reached the target at 4/157 in 29 overs. Max Gidley passed fifty for the visitors, finishing with 50 not out.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one. A tough stretch, and one the group will be determined to end.
Thanks to our opponents for the contest.
