At Oval 1 - Middle Oval, our Wonga Park 1XI lost their match against Warranwood 1XI on a tough day.
Warranwood 1XI batted first and put 6/214 on the board from 40 overs. Robert Sayer made a fine 84 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century. The hosts' best was a half-century from Todd Cordwell, who made 65. Lachlan Reynolds starred with the ball, taking two for 40.
In reply, we finished on 133 from 31.4 overs. Fifty for Toby Ford, who finished with 55 off 52 balls. Ben Thompson added a useful 31 off 51 balls. Credit to Jake Gilbert, who took three for 15 for our opponents.
We'll take the lessons from this one and go again. Well played to the hosts.
